A group of protesters under the banner Oyo State Coalition of Socialists, Labour Activists and Students Against Hardship and Hunger have staged a protest in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The demonstrators, who converged at the popular Mokola Roundabout, are demanding what they describe as true democracy and good governance.
They are also calling for a reversal of certain federal government policies, which they claim have caused widespread hardship and economic strain on Nigerians.
One of their key demands is the reversal of fuel subsidy removal, arguing that it has done little to ease the burden on citizens. Instead, they say it has triggered persistent hikes in the prices of goods and services, worsening the cost of living.
