Manchester City’s defensive woes deepened ahead of their opening Champions League clash away at Shakhtar Donetsk.

This is because centre back John Stones has now been ruled out with a muscle injury.

This leaves City vulnerable at the back with only Nicolas Otamedi the only recognised centre back available.

City were defeated 3-2 by newly promoted Norwich City in their last league game .
