Chairman of the Nigeria Women Football League, Aisha Falode, has urged the Super Falcons to resist any pressure that might arise from high expectations or from the home fans and inflict a final defeat on the hosts Cameroon in Saturday’s 2016 AWCON final.
Falode, a Member of the CAF Media Committee, told the coach Florence Omagbemi girls that they have the capacity to subdue their Cameroonian opponents to maintain their dominance in Women’s football in Africa.
She however warned the Cup holders to completely disregard the record books reiterating that it is vital not to allow the expected capacity crowd to distort their game plan.
The Falcons are yet to lose a Cup of Nations final match, winning in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2010 and 2014.
