Nigeria’s table tennis male team will face familiar foes Egypt in the first round of the team event as the ITTF World Junior Table Tennis Championships serve off today November 30 in Cape Town, South Africa.
Nigeria will battle for the single slot in the group with Egypt and Belgium in the boys’ team event, while the girls’ team will face Algeria and Brazil as well for the sole slot in the group.
The first stage involves 12 teams drawn into four groups of three teams each with the winner in each group advancing to the second round where they will be drawn alongside the top eight teams for another round robin matches.
The Nigerian team made up of five players – two boys and three girls, say their target is to go home with medals.
